Eight adults and one child were displaced by a fire at an apartment complex in Amherst Sunday morning, according to the Amherst Central Fire Alarm Office.

A man who is a suspect in a shooting in Westfield was arrested late Saturday evening in Fredonia. Authorities said the suspect who was being pursued by police crashed his car on Van Buren Road just outside the Village of Fredonia before fleeing the scene on foot.
