A Lockport man was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison after he distributed child pornography of a prepubescent girl. Improper videos of a girl with a man were sent by Gerard Dzierzanowski in 2023. The 53-year-old sent them while in communication with someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl on the messaging apps Whisper and Kik.

With a Lockport Common Council vote scheduled on a revised budget that reduces the city’s tax increase to 3.8%, it is unclear if enough aldermen will vote in favor of the spending plan. After weeks of meetings with Dan Cavallari, city finance director, aldermen met their initial goal of returning the budget to the tax cap by trimming more than $800,000.

29 year old Jakia Turner has been arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated after an investigation on Sunday, according to Town of Tonawanda police. She was stopped on a curb with four children aged one to 11 years old around 10:45 p.m. Sunday night. It is alleged that none of the children were wearing seatbelts.

A North Tonawanda teen who was urgently searching for a liver donor has received a successful transplant. A little over two weeks ago, 17-year-old Meredith Roberts was diagnosed with sudden, severe liver failure. A match was found and she has since undergone successful surgery.
