A video circulating on social media shows a Depew High School freshman being struck by two fellow students in a cafeteria. The victim’s mother says no parent should have to worry about their child’s safety when within school walls.

Two teenagers, 16 and 17, have been convicted of various charges in the killing of 3-year-old Ramone “Red” Carter in 2024. The jury rendered their decision just before 10 a.m. Wednesday after about seven hours of deliberation following a nearly weeklong trial.

A Getzville man was arraigned in court Friday in connection with a 2024 murder. Jahi Pope, 23, was arraigned in Erie County Court on one count of Murder in the Second Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.
