A 20-year-old has been charged for an alleged shooting on Joe McCarthy Drive in Amherst last month, according to Amherst police. Keshai Hunter was arrested on Oct. 9 in connection to the incident on the 300 block of Joe McCarthy in the early morning hours of Sept. 24.

A Buffalo woman was given 18 years to life in prison for a fatal shooting in the city’s Fillmore-Leroy neighborhood in 2024. That’s where
Latrice Purdie, 30, shot and killed 39-year-old Akeem Cortez .

Buffalo Police are warning of a new phone scam where scammers are reportedly impersonating Buffalo Police officers.

Parent Network of WNY is accepting applications for its new Family Behavior Support & Advocacy Program to help kids or young adults with a developmental disability. The program will work with families to develop a goal and identify challenging behaviors and other barriers to reaching that goal.
