One billion dollars will be spent in efforts to “significantly” improve the quality of the water in the Niagara River, according to an agreement announced Friday between the Buffalo Sewer Authority, DEC and the Attorney General’s Office.

People gathered Sunday in Niagara Falls to honor Charlie Kirk, the Turning Point USA CEO who was assassinated in Utah on Sept. 10, joining memorials taking place across the nation.

Four people were taken to the hospital after a fire broke out at 2439 Delaware Avenue on Saturday afternoon.

Volunteers, including local high school students, came together at Mount Calvary Cemetery on Sunday to restore grave markers of veterans who served in the armed forces, ensuring their final resting places remain visible and honored.

The Lockport Common Council Meeting Wednesday will be held at a different time than usual. The meeting will convene at 5:00pm in the Common Council Chambers, One Locks Plaza, Lockport. There will also be no public comment this evening
