Western New York’s Indian community is continuing to mourn the passing of a beloved family. A vigil was held Saturday in Amherst for the Divan family. The four family members were traveling to visit a temple when their car veered off the road and into an embankment. Jamestown Police officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Winsor Street Saturday. Investigators determined that the driver, 23-year-old Jorge L. Rivera deliberately hit the victim’s vehicle attempting to stop them The victim’s vehicle contained three juveniles, in addition to the victim. No injuries were reported. Rivera has been arrested and charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment, and criminal mischief.
