Man Injured by Fireworks

One person was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries after handling fireworks on Independence Day.
The incident happened shortly past 7 p.m. Friday on the 4900 block of Tonawanda Creek Road in the Town
of Pendleton. The report called into the Niagara County Communications Center concerned a male who was
severely injured. First responders said the person had severe injuries to his hand. He also had injuries to his chest
and abdomen. “Deputies on scene assisted EMS personnel with applying a tourniquet to the injured arm,” the Niagara
County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. The male – no age was provided – was taken by ambulance to Erie County
Medical Center with severe but non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said..
