Buffalo man assaullted officer with knives

A Buffalo man is facing charges after stabbing a police officer in Amherst. Rayquell Grant, 26, was arraigned Friday from his hospital bed on attempted murder and assault charges. Police say that on July 12, Grant ran at an officer with two large knives, stabbing him twice in the arm, before being shot by police. The officer was treated and released. Grant is being held without bail and could face life in prison if convicted. Another court date has not been scheduled yet.

Buffalo man was indicted Friday in connection to a shooting death in January. Jaquan Terry, 27, was arraigned Friday morning in Erie County Court charged with one felony count of murder and one violent felony count of criminal possession of a weapon. Prosecutors say Terry shot 32-year-old Danthony Barron,. on Sunday, Jan. 19 while sitting in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle on Roslyn Street
