A Niagara Falls man, 26 year old Daniel Abbotoy, was arraigned on a first-degree manslaughter charge Monday morning and found incompetent to stand trial after he fatally assaulted another People Inc. resident last month.

43 year old Joel Coleman of Buffalo was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for fatally shooting a victim and threatening another victim with an illegal gun in September 2022 on Jefferson Avenue.

A 17-year-old girl was stabbed and killed in North Buffalo early Sunday afternoon. Her 24 year old brother, Nicholas Allen, is charged with second degree murder.

State Senator Sean Ryan on Sunday called for a stop to what he called Acting Mayor Chris Scanlon’s plans to “sell off” the city’s cultural assets – accusations that Scanlon later denied.

The University at Buffalo announced Monday that they will be creating a $34M nursing simulation center.
