Buffalo man assaullted officer with knives

A Buffalo man is facing charges after stabbing a police officer in Amherst. Rayquell Grant, 26, was arraigned Friday from his hospital bed on attempted murder and assault charges. Police say that on July 12, Grant ran at an officer with two large knives, stabbing him twice in the arm, before being shot by police. The officer was treated and released. Grant is being held without bail and could face life in prison if convicted. Another court date has not been scheduled yet.

Buffalo man was indicted Friday in connection to a shooting death in January. Jaquan Terry, 27, was arraigned Friday morning in Erie County Court charged with one felony count of murder and one violent felony count of criminal possession of a weapon. Prosecutors say Terry shot 32-year-old Danthony Barron,. on Sunday, Jan. 19 while sitting in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle on Roslyn Street

A woman was killed in a hit-and-run in Buffalo on Thursday night. Police responded to William and Davey Streets shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle, which police confirmed was a Tesla Cybertruck, had fled the scene.

A 26-year-old motorcycle operator died at the scene of a crash involving a sports car on Saunders Settlement Road Thursday night. Emergency crews were called to the 2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road, near Niagara Wheatfield Hight School, about 9 p.m.

A suspect is now in custody after he got into a crash and was ejected from his vehicle the same day he allegedly shot and killed a woman in Buffalo. Police were looking for suspect Rickey Crouch after he allegedly shot and killed 44-year-old Amanda Thompson Thursday morning.

A man who was killed in a crash in Lockport Wednesday night has been identified. Thomas Summers, 52 and of Newfane, is accused of being under the influence of drugs when he crashed his 2011 Chevrolet Silverado into a utility pole around 7:05 p.m. Wednesday at 5151 Lockport Junction Road. His passenger, 47-year-old Rodolfo Espinoza III of Newfane, was pronounced dead at the scene.
