One person has now died after being assaulted inside of a transport van two weeks ago at People Inc. in the Town of Tonawanda. Police said Wednesday that 56-year-old Diana Robinson of Amherst died on Tuesday at ECMC.

Buffalo Police are investigating a car that crashed into a tree in Niagara Square overnight. It happened around 3:30 a.m. No word on injuries or charges in the accident.

A company that produces coasters in Niagara County will close in June. Fifteen employees at Katz Americas, located on Lockport Road in Sanborn, will be affected.

The City of Dunkirk is inviting developers to submit proposals for what officials call the last prime piece of undeveloped waterfront property along Lake Erie.

The SPCA Serving Erie County Investigations team rescued several dogs from a home in Williamsville on Monday, and eight more dogs were brought to the SPCA Tuesday, 22 in all.

If you’re planning a visit to the Buffalo Zoo this Thursday, you won’t have to worry about admission costs. The zoo is partnering with M&T Bank to offer their “Third Thursdays” program. Admission will be free on six Thursdays this year and three Thursdays next year.

According to the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, a correction officer at Groveland Correctional Facility died in state housing. The officer was 53-year-old David Hilburger from Angola. The sister of the victim said that Hilburger had been feeling sick, but fearing retaliation from Groveland Correctional Facility, he never sought medical attention.

The Medina Police Department said on social media A pedestrian died Saturday in the Village of Medina after being struck by a vehicle. “Tragically, the pedestrian involved in the accident was pronounced dead at the scene,” police said in a Saturday statement, adding that more information would be released “pending notification to family.”

A Hamburg man, Michael Osuch, pleaded guilty to manslaughter Thursday following his sister’s death after an alleged attack on her and their 91-year-old mother in May 2022.

The New York State Department of Transportation announced on Thursday that it will not be appealing a February ruling regarding the $1.2 billion Kensington Expressway Project, which said the project could not move forward until a full environmental study is completed.

A former Tonawanda man was given more than six decades in prison for sexually abusing a child over a period of more than six years. Robert Roy, 42, was sentenced to 64 years to life in prison.
