A man accused of driving a car down railroad tracks in Western New York is now facing charges. The incident happened shortly past 6 p.m. on Dec. 21. Dunkirk Police responded to a 911 call from a driver who reported his vehicle was stuck, and he did not know his location, which was near railroad tracks off Light Street. Dunkirk Police said the driver, 54-year-old Michael Lemanski now faces a driving while intoxicated charge. He was also issued traffic tickets.

Man arrested for menacing police with a rifle
Police arrested a Westfield man on Christmas Eve after a reported domestic dispute escalated into an armed confrontation with officers. On Dec. 24 at a Route 20 residence, the Westfield Police Department answered a domestic disturbance call.. Police said 38-year-old Shawn Cettell became “argumentative” and went inside the residence. Police said he was “standing in the foyer area with a long gun style rifle in an aggressive manner,”.He finally put down the gun. He was charged with two felony counts of menacing a police officer and was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.

Resident of senior housing was taken toa hospital due to a fire in the apt
A woman was taken to the hospital after an apartment fire broke out Saturday afternoon at a senior housing complex.The fire was reported shortly after 2 p.m. on the 100 block of Moorman Drive, It was contained to one apartment, but smoke spread throughout the building, impacting several other residents.
Buffalo Carjacker caught in Toronto
According to Buffalo Police, at around 6:30 p.m. Friday, a woman was forcibly removed from her vehicle in a parking lot in the 1000 block of Michigan Avenue. The victim was allegedly assaulted by an unknown male who fled in her vehicle. Buffalo Police were able to identify the suspect and link him to a stolen vehicle arrest made by Toronto Police. The suspect is being held by the Toronto Police Service awaiting extradition
Police find 2 non-suspicious deaths on Pearl St
Buffalo Police are investigating the deaths of two people on Thursday. Investigators say they were called to 5 N. Pearl Street just before 4pm for a report of a deceased person. When they arrived, officers confirmed a “non-suspicious fatality.” While there, officers checked on another person who lives in the multi-unit residence. Police say that they also confirmed that person found dead of “non-suspicious circumstances.”

2 people facing charges for theft of a car
Two people from Buffalo have been arrested following a hit-and-run crash in the Town of Tonawanda on New Year’s Eve. Keeyon Jordan, 19, and Arelys Cintronrivera, 20, are facing multiple charges after a hit-and-run crash involving a stolen vehicle in the Town of Tonawanda. Each were charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property and one count of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent.

A fire that occurred in the Town of Wheatfield Friday morning is under investigation. According to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received multiple reports of a commercial structure fire on Lockport Road. Once on scene, crews found an auto shop with attached apartments fully engulfed in flames. No injuries.
