A man died after he jumped into the Erie Canal in an attempt to evade police in Tonawanda early Thursday morning on Webster Street.

Lockport Common Council approved establishing the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program with a budget of $100,000, consisting of $85,000 in grant funds and an additional $15,000 in a local match.

Approximately 3,000 No Kings rallies are scheduled around the United States Saturday. Locally, Stand Up Lockport is hosting a rally in front of the Kaleida Health center at South Transit and Robinson roads from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There are some administrative changes at the Ralph Wilson Park Conservancy. The group confirms its executive director, Katie Campos, is no longer with the organization. Kari Root Bonaro, Director of Administration & Engagement and John Koleman, who served on the Board of the Conservancy have left as well.

A considerable cluster of downtown Buffalo is up for sale after developer Douglas Jemal offloaded 10 properties. The 10 properties on Huron and Ellicott Streets are close together and grouped into two for sale.
