Niagara County remains measles-free, while 89 cases have occurred in Canada during 2026. Measles incidence rates remain closely monitored by public health organizations after the highly contagious illness logged more cases last year — totaling 2,144 — than in the past three decades.

The Niagara Falls Water Board dealt with a major water leak that briefly shut down a portion of Niagara Falls Boulevard on Monday morning. That affected section has since reopened.
