Snow is sweeping through Buffalo ahead of Thanksgiving, with a winter weather advisory in effect for several Western New York counties beginning Wednesday night. Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said Wednesday that Buffalo is prepared to handle the winter weather.

A 32-year-old inmate at the Niagara County Correctional Facility is facing a felony charge after attacking a corrections officer on Tuesday.
