A Niagara County Court judge has ruled that a Niagara Falls woman should not have her 15-year state prison term for manslaughter reduced under provisions of New York’s Domestic Violence Survivors Justice Act. The judge concluded that Ashley Berger did not meet the requirements of the DVSJA and was not eligible to have her current manslaughter sentence reduced.
A Buffalo man was sentenced on Monday after he shot a woman in the abdomen and seriously injured her last March. 24 year old Quameir King shot the 28-year-old woman during a fight.
A 26-year-old from Tonawanda was arrested for an alleged arson on Young Street on Saturday. Bianca Guerra, of Tonawanda, is accused of starting a fire at a home on Young Street at Simpson Street around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. The blaze caused around $325,000 in damages.
