Local county clerks are warning people about a court toll scam that appears to be circulating in multiple states. The fake court summons appears to be from the Supreme Court of the State of New York with a judge’s name of “John Smith.” The scam claims that you have failed to pay a toll and wants you to scan a QR code to pay for it.

A Westfield man, 52 year old Jahmaul Johnson, has been charged with first-degree attempted assault after allegedly shooting a woman in a home on Saturday evening. Westfield Police say officers arrived on scene after receiving reports of a shooting just before 7:30 p.m. Officers found a woman with a gunshot wound inside the home. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A man from Atlanta will be spending the next 34 months in prison after he conspired with three others to steal from businesses in Western New York. Between January and September 2022, Lorenzo Jones, 38, and his three co-conspirators stole checks from businesses in Tonawanda, Clarence, Elma, Sanborn and Alden.
