Fourteen people, three dogs and several cats were displaced and one rabbit died following an apartment fire in Lockport Thursday night. Firefighters were dispatched to 80 Genesee Street around 9:30 p.m, where an apartment in the three and a half story, 12 unit building was fully engulfed in flames. Fire officials used ladders to help victims to the ground.

A man is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Buffalo late Thursday night. They received a call for a man experiencing a mental health crisis on Minnesota Avenue. Officers responded just before 11 p.m. Thursday night. They say the situation escalated, and the man began holding three people at knifepoint.
