A North Tonawanda priest charged with physically harassing a parishioner has been ordered to undertake six months of counseling, with a protective order issued on behalf of the victim. The Rev. Michael LaMarca was sentenced Friday morning in North Tonawanda City Court.

One man is dead after a heavy fire broke out at a home in Amherst Thursday night, according to the Amherst Central Fire Alarm office. Officials received a call reporting heavy fire coming from the front of a house on North Bailey Avenue around 11:45 p.m. No word on a cause or the name of the victim.
