Lockport Mayor John Lombardi III said he had no plans to fill the position of city engineer and converted the role into a manager of special projects position that has been filled. Lombardi said the city entered into an engineering contract with Nussbaumer and Clarke Inc. for 2026, which includes proactive engineering planning and street engineering.
Grand Street resident Patricia Pieroni feels surrounded. In the past seven years, Pieroni said her 3rd Ward neighborhood has been dotted with house fires and responders have discovered that some of the hydrants don’t work.
North Tonawanda Mayor Austin Tylec took to the podium on Tuesday for his State of the City address. The speech focused on the city’s plan for the coming year – however, DPW union members showed up in protest, calling for better wages in their contract – even saying that Tylec had a gentlemen’s agreement with the union that ultimately fell apart.
