A 16-year-old boy from West Seneca was killed after being struck by a pickup truck Thursday night in West Seneca. The crash happened Thursday on Clinton Street, The teen was struck by a pickup truck driven by a 27-year-old man from Depew. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to Erie County Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. Police said the investigation is ongoing and that no criminal charges are anticipated.
Buffalo is no longer moving forward with a proposed animal shelter on Niagara Street, according to city officials. Fillmore District Councilman Mitch Nowakowski said while talk of a new shelter has circulated for months, nothing became “real” without a formal proposal coming before the Common Council.
Federal investigators are trying to figure out why a business jet carrying retired NASCAR driver Greg Biffle and six others tried to return to a North Carolina airport just after takeoff but plowed into trees short of the runway, killing everyone on board.
