A Cheektowaga woman is facing multiple charges after a pedestrian was fatally hit in Amherst Saturday night. Jennifer A. Ortiz, 57, was arraigned and charged with one count of Vehicular Manslaughter in the 2nd Degree, one count of Leaving the Scene of an Incident Resulting in Death, and one count of Driving While Intoxicated.
Amherst republican Dan Gagliardo announced his plans to run for state senate Monday. Gagliardo most recently lost the election for Amherst Town Supervisor to democrat Shawn Lavin.
