A Niagara Falls woman has pleaded guilty to the murder of her mother in the city’s first homicide of 2025 and will spend 20 years in prison. Seleste Bomberry, 30, entered a guilty plea to first-degree manslaughter after admitting to stabbing and killing her mother, Gennie Blackwell, 48, on March 23 inside their apartment

Members of the Niagara Falls Police Department’s Emergency Response Team stormed a 10th Street home Wednesday night and took a 29-year-old man into custody following reports of a shooting. Police responded to a house in the 400 block of 10th Street around 8:45 p.m. for calls of an unwanted person. The call was upgraded to shots fired after it was reported that a man had fired a .22-caliber gun into a door toward another person. They were not hit by the gunfire.

A Buffalo woman was sentenced on Thursday to three years probation after she hit a teenager with a garbage truck last year and left him paralyzed. Sasiya Davis-Johnson was driving a garbage truck for the City of Buffalo “way too fast” and going in reverse down Rhode Island Street because she was running late on the morning of Oct. 2, 2024
