A Niagara Falls woman has pleaded guilty to the murder of her mother in the city’s first homicide of 2025 and will spend 20 years in prison. Members of the Niagara Falls Police Department’s Emergency Response Team stormed a 10th Street home Wednesday night and took a 29-year-old man into custody following reports of a shooting. Police responded to a house in the 400 block of 10th Street around 8:45 p.m. for calls of an unwanted person. The call was upgraded to shots fired after it was reported that a man had fired a .22-caliber gun into a door toward another person. They were not hit by the gunfire.
A Buffalo woman was sentenced on Thursday to three years probation after she hit a teenager with a garbage truck last year and left him paralyzed.
