A Buffalo man, 35 year old Alexander Weidner, was sentenced after nearly 5,000 images and 400 videos of child pornography were found in his possession in 2023, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Immigration agents have arrested and detained 44 people in raids across Western New York so far this month. At truck stops along the New York Thruway in Angola, Clarence and Corfu, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents conducted “immigration inspections” during a four-day operation that swept up 30 drivers and seven others.
Two brothers are dead and one is in custody following an alleged argument Sunday night, according to New York State Police.

The University at Buffalo student accused of threatening to “shoot up the school” was in State Supreme Court Monday. According to court documents, witnesses said they overheard the student say, “Shoot up the school tomorrow,” and “Shoot them in the head, and the cops would get here five minutes too late,” on Thursday.
