Code Blue will be in effect from 8 p.m. today through 8 a.m. Monday (Nov. 24) in the city of Lockport due to forecasted overnight below-freezing temperatures, the City Clerk’s office announced. Any homeless person or individual without home heating may go directly to the Salvation Army, 50 Cottage St., between 8 and 10 p.m. for shelter.

62 year old Richard Fox, who was convicted of two counts of murder after he killed two women almost twenty years apart and hid their bodies in Chautauqua County has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison.

Buffalo Police say five people have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at Canisius University Thursday night. According to police, shortly before 10 p.m., E District officers responded to a report that a female student had been robbed at gunpoint in the Eastwood parking lot. The suspects allegedly took her keys, phone and vehicle. They were tracked down in the vehicle later.

A federal jury awarded $80 million Wednesday to the estate of Darryl Boyd of Buffalo, whose conviction in a 1976 murder was overturned after he spent nearly a quarter century in prison.
