Thousands of participants came together at Buffalo’s Outer Harbor on Saturday for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, an event aimed at raising awareness and funds to support families and advance research toward a cure. The Alzheimer’s Association says all money raised during the walk stays local, helping families in Erie County and the surrounding region.
Female veterans from World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War took off from Buffalo Niagara International Airport on Saturday morning for the region’s first all-female Honor Flight. The free trip will bring the veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit service memorials before returning home Sunday.
