A 54-year-old woman died Thursday night after she was ejected from a vehicle during a crash involving juveniles, according to Cheektowaga Police.
The collision occurred on Union Road at the off-ramp of Route 33 around 11:30 p.m. Thursday night.

A man has been charged after a woman and a newborn baby died during a house fire in Buffalo this past weekend. A fire broke out on the first floor of a home at 428 Norwood Avenue in the Elmwood Village on Saturday morning. Kathleen Carrig, 29, and a 4-day-old infant were pronounced dead at the scene. 30 year old Kidane Haile, who was taken to ECMC with serious injuries, is under arrest.

A Tonawanda man, 29 year old Brian Borth, is facing vehicular manslaughter charges after a man was struck and killed while riding his skateboard on Niagara Street in May 2024.

Jason Zuba has been appointed Lockport City School District’s director of assessment, technology and data security. The Lockport High School graduate and former technology teacher in the district will assume his new post on Dec. 1.
