A car drove into the Niagara River from the Niagara Scenic Parkway on Monday morning. Police said that a truck reportedly drove off the Niagara Scenic Parkway and into the river near the Bird Overlook around 9:15 a.m. Approximately an hour and a half later, a vehicle was found submerged. No word on the fate of the driver.

A mistrial was declared Monday in the case of a man previously convicted of murdering a woman in Tonawanda over 30 years ago. Brian Scott Lorenzo was convicted in the murder of 33-year-old Deborah Meindl at her Franklin Street residence.

Six men are facing charges for sexually exploiting children. The New York State Police, along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Town of Lancaster Police Department, conducted an operation targeting individuals involved in the online exploitation of children.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued $475,000 in penalties to Great Lakes Cheese following a massive fish kill in late August, it announced Monday.

The annual Niagara County-based Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place at Reservoir State Park on Oct. 18.
