Richard Fox pleaded guilty on Friday to the murders of Marquita Mull and Cassandra Watson, whose bodies were discovered together in September 2021 on a trail in Chautauqua County.

An Olean man was arrested Wednesday on charges of possessing and promoting child pornography, the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office announced. Michael Sharbaugh, 53, was arrested in Sanford, Fla., on a warrant out of Cattaraugus County.

If things don’t change soon, and with revenues dropping, Riverdale Cemetery will become the Town of Lewiston’s responsibility. Niagara Falls City Judge James Faso, the president of the Riverdale Cemetery Association, appealed to the town for help at its work session earlier this month.

Political divide in Niagara Falls is leading to the closure of the Hyde Park Ice Pavilion on Sep. 30. Mike Carella, who has operated the rink for nearly 15 years, says he put in a bid to continue operations at the pavilion and was denied.

Niagara County has established a DWI Treatment Court in hopes of bringing down an average of more than 500 DWI arrests per year, since 2020.
