Former Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corp. CEO and President Henry Wojtaszek’s plan to return to the organization as a member of its board of directors may soon become a reality. Niagara County Legislature Minority Leader Chris Robins, D-Niagara Falls, said he is expecting Republican lawmakers to take the steps needed during tonight’s legislature meeting to appoint Wojtaszek to the OTB board seat vacated last month by the resignation of the county’s long-time representative, Elliott Winter.

A child suffered minor injuries after being struck by a 58 year old unlicensed driver on Chestnut Street on Monday night. Lockport police said the accident occurred about 6:20 p.m. on Chestnut near McCollumn Street when the child ran out in front of the vehicle and was struck.

University at Buffalo President Satish Tripathi is set to step down next July and will return to his faculty role in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences next fall.
