Students will soon be back in the classroom at King Center Charter School but who will be leading them remains in question after a court order reinstated their old principal, while the school announced the appointment of another on Wednesday.

In May, Providence Farm Collective (PFC), a 37-acre nonprofit farm in Orchard Park, had its $750,000 federal grant pulled by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The organization filed an appeal against the termination and a federal judge granted a preliminary injunction, temporarily halting the termination.

In a meeting lasting about 15 minutes Thursday night, the Cambria Town Board voted to appoint Matthew Foe as interim supervisor without public discussion. Foe, who lives on Upper Mountain Road, is currently the town’s commissioner of special projects.

A Village of Sloan man, 19 year old Shannon Rose, faces up to four years in prison after pleading guilty to firing a gun in a home and inadvertently injuring a 2-year-old child in July.
