The Niagara Falls Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire on 8th Street and Walnut Avenue. That fire was reported at a vacant home Friday night just before midnight. Flames covered the entire front of the house and were also visible inside on the first and second floor.Crews were able to put that fire out and cleared the scene just around 2:15 a.m. Saturday, according to Niagara Falls Firefighters Local 714.
Mercy Hospital in South Buffalo was on lockdown for roughly 30 minutes on Saturday afternoon, after a man walked into the building with a gunshot wound. A Buffalo Police spokesperson told 2 On Your Side that a man walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound, adding that the shooting did not happen in the hospital or in the City of Buffalo.
