Buffalo Police are investigating a threat that was made to the Wegmans on Amherst Street Sunday night.

One person was killed in an early Saturday shooting in Buffalo. Officers responded just before 4 a.m. on Saturday to Jefferson Avenue and Broadway, where they found a 27-year-old man, of Buffalo, who was struck by gunfire. He died at the scene.

One person is in custody after Buffalo Police responded to a stabbing call Sunday evening. The incident happened on the 100 block of Elmwood Avenue – between North and Allen streets – shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday.

An emergency demolition has been ordered at a vacant West Side building. The building, at 461 Rhode Island Street, is in danger of collapsing.

The Hispanic Heritage Council of Western New York will receive $7 million from New York State to complete the construction of its cultural institute on Buffalo’s West Side.
