New York State Police have released new details in the case of a Bolivar woman facing attempted murder charges after she allegedly stabbed two troopers.

A tense and emotional sentencing took place in Erie County Court Thursday as Markus Genovese, the driver who caused a crash while driving drunk that killed 8-year-old Thomas Ross, learned his fate; 5 to 15 years in prison for manslaughter and vehicular manslaughter.

Buffalo State University announced Thursday that it is cutting 19 programs and the equivalent of 63 full-time staff members in its continued effort to balance its budget. The cuts come as the university says its deficit is projected to be between $15.5 million and $17.5 million as it nears the end of its fiscal year.
